An Indo-Israel Centre of Excellence for citrus was inaugurated in Kota, Rajasthan by Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Smt. Vasundhara Raje and Ambassador of Israel to India, Mr. Daniel Carmon.
Mr. Dan Alluf, Head of International Development Cooperation (Mashav), Science & Agriculture and Ms. Liron Zaslanky, Councilor, Political Affairs, Embassy of Israel were also present at the event.
While addressing the audience, during the inauguration, Ambassador Carmon said, “We inaugurate this Centre of Excellence at a time when relations between our countries grow and expand rapidly. This is a partnership we can see with our own eyes and feel with our bear hands. Israeli and Rajasthani experts have been adapting and developing jointly best practices that will assist the farmers of Rajasthan in improving productivity and optimizing resource use efficiency.”
This is the second Indo-Israel Centre of Excellence to be established in the State of Rajasthan following the Centre of Excellences in Bassi. It will serve as yet another focal point for Indo-Israeli agriculture relationship and will showcase some of the most advanced Israeli agricultural technologies, adapted for Indian conditions by local experts.
